WINE TASTING

2000

Greater or smaller groups, families, friends and professional groups of wine lovers are invited to visit our winery.

In case of smaller groups, the cellar visit begins with viewing the bottling building where we produce wines with controlled ripening. Here, the guests can become familiar with the mysteries of producing reductive wines and the technology of wine production.

Afterwards, we take a visit to the row of wine cellars in Gombos-hegy designated as a World Heritage site where we show our visitors around our 100-meter long ripening cellar hollowed in rhyolite-tufa.

Subsequently, we arrive at the tasting cellar where we can serve 2-200 people. If required, we can also offer cold and warm meals. Please order these based on preliminary negotiations. The cellar visit and wine tasting take about 1.5-2 hours (+ meal if required).

We introduce our visitors to the short history of Hercegkút, we present Tokaj-Hegyalja, our family business and, of course, we describe the tasted wines. Our wine tasting room is also suitable for various events. Even a Gypsy band can be arranged for special events.

If you intend to stay here for more days, we can help you with organizing free-time programs. If needed, we can provide wine tasting or wine dinners throughout the country in restaurants and at events!

Let us show you around a small village in Zemplén!

Götz Winery is located in a Swabian village, Hercegkút, which lies about 3 kilometres from Sárospatak. The first mention of the settlement dates from the 1750s, the original name of the village was Trautsondorf.

The village has two rows of wine cellars, in Kőporos and Gombos-hegy, both form part of the World Heritage Site.

Hercegkút has become more and more popular with tourists because of the Swabian Folk House which preserves old traditions. It is worth taking a walk in Gombos-hegy to Kálvária before the wine tasting because of the spectacular view. The village belongs to the Roman Catholic religion, our church was built in the 18th century. In addition, there are several accommodation facilities suitable for a wide range of requirements.
